The truth about Quantitative Easing . . .

From the Wall Street Journal:

“There’s a real question as to whether the massive bond-buying program known as quantitative easing was worth the cost, former Federal Reserve official Andrew Huszar said Tuesday. Huszar, a senior fellow at Rutgers Business School and a former managing director at Morgan Stanley, noted a few of the program’s unintended effects.

Huszar apologized for his role in QE in a Wall Street Journal op-ed published Monday.
‘I can only say: I’m sorry, America,” he wrote. “The central bank continues to spin QE as a tool for helping Main Street. But I’ve come to recognize the program for what it really is: the greatest backdoor Wall Street bailout of all time.’”
From centernewsnetwork.com:
It was also a back door bailout of the Blue State political machine. Quantitative Easing was intended to bail out the insolvent Blue State public pension funds which require high rates of return from Wall Street in order to pay otherwise unsustainable benefits to public union pensioners and Democrat politicians. The stock market as it now exists has absolutely nothing to do with the “real” economy of goods, services and most importantly, jobs and income.”

Cruzaders2014.com . . . Change Congress!

Change Congress! Do your Part.

Don’t believe the charge made by establishment Republicans that the efforts of Ted Cruz and the Tea Party to delay or defund Obamacare prevented the mainstream media from focusing on the failures of Obamacare. The media would not have highlighted Obamacare’s problems no matter what the Republicans did or did not do regarding the budget and debt limit issues. This will be made obvious over the next several weeks.

Obama has issued his new instructions to the mainstream media. The new narrative is whether Boehner can rein in the racist Tea Party radicals and pass so-called common sense immigration reform (amnesty). The Obamacare debacle will be relegated to “old news” status.

Stay focused.

Success holds no attraction for teacher unions . . .

centernewsnetwork.com:

The abysmal showing by New York City Public Schools on the new “Common Core” student (and teacher) proficiency tests has produced a plethora of excuses and rationalizations from the usual suspects. Federal, state and local officials assure us that all is well and the poor test scores are really a good thing, reflecting no lack of competency on the part of teachers and administrators.

Not surprisingly, these usual suspects have no interest in the amazingly successful efforts of Eva Moscowitz’s New York City Charter Schools:

Of the 1,500 kids in her Harlem and South Bronx schools who took the Common Core exams, 82 percent got a passing score in math, and 58 percent passed English.

Across the city, the pass rates were 26 percent in English and 30 percent in math . . . Her performance makes her the No. 1 leader in New York City schools — and a scary competitor to the rest of the system. In a better world, one where excellence is prized instead of feared, she would be chancellor and all city students would get the benefit of hetalent and passion.”

Obama: Honor Trayvon by banning guns so white Hispanics can be beaten to death by thugs who look like my son (if I had one).

President Barack Obama issued a long-awaited response Sunday afternoon to the acquittal of George Zimmerman Saturday evening, reminding Americans to temper “passions,” and that “we are a nation of laws and the jury has spoken.”
He added that Americans should “honor” the life of Trayvon Martin by committing to “stem the tide of gun violence,” and “ask ourselves if we are doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion in our communities.”

Gun Manufacturer says Cuomo’s New York is not SAFE for business . . .

centernewsnetwork.com:

Gov. Cuomo’s middle of the night raid on New Yorkers’ constitutional right to keep and bear arms has claimed another victim. Cuomo’s so-called “SAFE Act” poses onerous restrictions on the manufacture, sale and possession of previously legal firearms and was passed on a phony “emergency” basis without public notice or debate. Though significant portions of the ill-advised and sloppily drafted legislation will eventually be struck down in court, it’s effects will be, in many cases, permanent. Lost jobs is one such case. Pennsylvania can add these manufacturing jobs to the the thousands lost by New York due to Cuomo’s fear of the anti-cracking protesters.

Gun manufacturer will move its headquarters, and expand, outside of New York, due to uncertainty created by Cuomo’s SAFE Act.:

Business has been good for Rockland County-based Kahr Arms, so much so that it plans to expand with a new factory on more than 600 acres.

The trouble, at least for New York state: The gun manufacturer, currently based in Rockland County, is expanding across the border in Pennsylvania, and in the process will be moving its headquarters out of the Empire State. The reason, according to a corporate official, can be found in the swift passage last January of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s SAFE gun control law.

It wasn’t so much that the measure bans certain kinds of guns and magazines, the company said. Instead, it was the suddenness with which the law was passed — less than 24 hours after being released to the public — leaving Kahr’s executives to wonder what kind of unforeseen regulations or restrictions might lie ahead.

“One of our big concerns was, OK, the SAFE Act was passed in the middle of the night. You wake up the next morning and boom, that was it,” said Frank Harris, Kahr’s vice president of sales and marketing. “We just felt like, gee, if they can do this, what can they do next?

Obama political advisor celebrates Sup. Ct. Gay marriage ruling by diplomatically tweeting, “It’s constitutional,, Bitches.” Obama appoints him Ambassador to South Africa . . .

centernewsnetwork.com:

President Obama has made a thoughtful choice for Ambassador to South Africa. A hyper-partisan, Congo-born, Haitian-bred, Brooklyn-educated community organizer will surely bring diplomatic skills to the racially-charged atmosphere in South Africa.

“It’s constitutional. Bitches.” Patrick Gaspard, the Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee, tweeted the news Thursday. Continue reading

Mayor Bloomberg points out the obvious, though unspoken, truth about NYC crime . . .

centernewsnetwork.com:

Mayor Bloomberg pointed out the obvious today regarding the very successful NYC “Stop & Frisk” crime prevention program which has been under attack for profiling “young men of color.” Critics ignore crime statistics which show, year after year, that 90-95% of violent crime in NYC is committed by “minorities” against “minorities.” Most mainstream media outlets focus on minority victims and ignore the inconvenient fact that the perpetrator is nearly always black or Hispanic. And so the “racism” industry explanation for minority crime continues. Bloomberg has has enough:

“I think we disproportionately stop whites too much and minorities too little. It’s exactly the reverse of what they say,” Bloomberg said on his weekly radio show, in response to the City Council passing two bills aimed at reining in the controversial policing tactic.

“I don’t know where they went to school but they certainly didn’t take a math course. Or a logic course.”

The mayor was referring to statistics showing that a majority of serious crimes in the city are carried out by young men of color.

The New York Post story noted that “[e]ighty seven percent of all stops last year were for blacks or latinos, who constituted 90 percent of murder suspects, according to city stats. Only nine percent of stops were for white people, who made up 7 percent of all murder suspects.”

The Mayor then added that:

“People say, well you know, cops shouldn’t be stopping so many of any one group,” he said. “The cops’ job is to stop so many of groups fitting the description. It’s society’s job to make sure that no one group is disproportionately represented as potential perpetrators.”

Governor Cuomo rolls the dice on even more graft and corruption for NY Democrats . . .

centernewsnetwork.com:

New York Governor Cuomo’s casino gambling gambit will allow for four casinos in New York State and their locations will be chosen by “Cuomo and legislative leaders.”

And guess what? Cuomo and the legislature will be free to accept contributions from potential casino operators despite a prior Cuomo promise to ban such gifts.

If casino gambling is beneficial to communities then why not apply such policies state-wide? It’s really very simple. Legislation and tax policies which provide benefits to all citizens yield fewer votes, political contributions and favors to Democrats than “targeted” proposals. The Democrat guiding principle is to divide us into groups, and then to threaten punishment to certain groups while offering rewards to others.

Despite the Democrats incessant bleating about “fairness,” unequal treatment of both groups and individuals is essential to Democrat electoral success. Graft, envy and anger are the keys to Democrat hope and change.

No wonder the FBI can’t find Jimmy Hoffa . . .

centernewsnetwork.com

The FBI office in Albany NY has apparently wasted the past year or so entrapping two morons who proposed to build a super atomic radiation-fired death ray for use on Muslims in an effort to protect Israel, on behalf of the KKK. Or something.

The completely preposterous plot is described by scientists, kindly, as not “feasible.”

What likely drew the FBI’s rapt attention and investigative overkill was one of the men allegedly belonging to a website called “Americans Demanding Liberty and Freedom” which the local “progressive” newspaper describes as a “tea party group.”

Why didn’t the FBI just refer the “tea party” x-ray terrorists to the IRS? Surely the IRS would have known how to handle them!

AP account of CBO scoring of “Border Security” Act ignores findings that borders will not be secured, wages will fall and unemployment will increase . . .

1. USA Today: WASHINGTON — The American economy would suffer some initial struggles if a Senate bill legalizing the nation’s million unauthorized immigrants becomes law, but the overall effect would be a reduction in the federal deficit, according to an analysis from the Congressional Budget Office.

But the CBO also found that the border security components in the bill would reduce illegal immigration only by 25%.

2. AP: http://news.yahoo.com/cbo-senate-immigration-bill-help-economy-010711853.html

“Not all the forecast was as favorable, though. CBO said average wages would decline through 2025 as a result of the bill, and that unemployment would go up slightly.”
